Monday, April 7th COLUMBIA 6 Greenville 4 @ Greenville

The Columbia Inferno sweeps the defending Kelly Cup Champions, the Greenville Grrrowl as they advance to the Southeast Division Finals. Robin Carruthers scored on the power play at 13:52 of the first period to open the scoring with passes from Barrie Moore and Corey Hessler. Greenville scored a goal at the opening minutes of the second period but Moore answered by scoring at 8:45 on another power play goal with Rejean Stringer and Chris St. Croix assisting. Stringer then scored the third Inferno goal at 11:51 as Darrell Hay and Carruther set him up. Goaltender Josh Blackburn replaced starter Patrick Couture after he left the ice from a collision in front of the net. Greenville then scored two goals to tie the game at three at the end of the second. Tim Smith scored unassisted at 5:19 of the third. With pressure building from the Grrrowl, Matt Ulwelling scored the game-winning goal at 15:49 with assists from Sean Owens and Trevor Demmans. Hay added the empty net goal at 19:51 as the Inferno sweep the series 3-0.

Friday, April 11th COLUMBIA 4 Pee Dee 1 @ Columbia

Columbia came out strong in the first period with scoring three goals. Tim Smith opened with a power play goal at 2:39 with Corey Hessler and Matt Ulwelling on the assist. Chris Pittman scored the second Inferno goal at 13:46 with passes from Tim Smith and Trevor Demmans. Denis Martynyuk scored his second goal of the playoffs at 14:55 with Ulwelling and Eric Labelle on the set up. Pee Dee scored their only goal at the 2:46 mark of the second period by BJ Adams. Corey Hessler scored the fourth and final goal for the Inferno at 15:57 of the third period with a slapshot from the blue line. Rejean Stringer and Robin Carruthers had the assist. The game ended in a melee with 54 penalty minutes in the last five seconds of regulation. Goaltender Patrick Couture stopped 21 of 22 shots to record his third win in the playoffs.

Saturday, April 12th COLUMBIA 2 Pee Dee 1 @ Columbia

Robin Carruthers scored the game-winning goal to lift the Inferno over the Pride 2-1, as the Inferno take the lead in the Southeast Division Finals Series 2-0. Carruthers picked up the loose puck in front of the net and scored at 11:41 of the third period with Trevor Demmans and Barrie Moore on the assist. After a scoreless first period, Pee Dee scored 1:47 into the second period with a goal by Wes Goldie. Barrie Moore scored almost five minutes later as the puck sailed past goaltender Ron Vogel at 6:24 on the power play with passes from Rejean Stringer and Darrell Hay. Goaltender Patrick Couture stopped 24 of 25 shots between the pipes to earn his fourth post-season win.
