COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 6, 2008)-The Inferno (26-23-4-6, 62 points) fell to the visiting Gwinnett Gladiators (35-18-2-3, 75 points) 4-2 on Thursday night, marking the second time the Inferno have lost to the Gladiators in the last week.

Brad Schell scored the game's first goal midway through the first period when he collected his own rebound off the pads of Todd Ford and beat the Inferno goalie for his fifth goal of the year. Mike Hamilton scored his 19th of the year to give the Gladiators a 2-0 lead with six minutes left in the first when he bounced a sharp-angle wrister from the low goal line off Ford's back and into the Inferno net. Inferno captain Brad Ralph cut the lead in half just 30 seconds later when his 16th of the year eluded Gladiators netminder Craig Kowalski. Inferno newcomer Jeremy Schenderling and Owen Fussey notched the assists.

The Inferno managed to tie the game at 13:50 of the second period when Fussey collected a Ralph rebound and found daylight past Kowalski for his 17th goal of the year. Schenderling recorded his second assist of the night with his new club.

The Gladiators reclaimed the lead three minutes into the third when Andy Brandt picked up a Chad Painchaud rebound and slipped it past a sprawling Ford. Brandt's 15th goal of the year would prove to be the game winner. Brad Schell added the insurance tally when he deflected a Jamie Milam slapshot to beat Ford and drop the Inferno 4-2.

Kowalski finished with 26 saves on 28 shots while Ford stopped 28 of 32.

The Inferno return to the Carolina Coliseum to host the Dayton Bombers on Friday, March 7th at 7:05 p.m.
