
Cincinnati Defenseman Starling Named PaySourceUSA Plus Performer Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Cincinnati defenseman Chad
Starling is the PaySourceUSA ECHL Plus Performer of the Month
for February after finishing with a plus-minus rating of +16 in 13 games,
improving his league-leading plus-minus rating to +42 in 53 games.
Drafted in the fourth round (114th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the
1999 National Hockey League Entry Draft, the 27 year old was even or better
in all 13 games in February, including six straight games where he was
plus.
The 6-foot-6 and 205-pound Starling is in his seventh season in the ECHL
where he has 90 points (13g-77a) and 513 penalty minutes in 349 regular
season games and three goals and 36 penalty minutes in 31 Kelly Cup Playoff
games with Cincinnati, Peoria and Utah.
The native of Delisle, Saskatchewan has also played in the American Hockey
League where he has an assist and 36 penalty minutes in 36 games with
Worcester and Houston.
Starling played in the Ontario Hockey League in 2000-01 and had 15 points
(3g-12a) and 118 penalty minutes in 51 regular season games and two points
(1g-1a) and 29 penalty minutes in 12 playoff games for Sudbury. He also
played three seasons in the Western Hockey League where he had 28 points
(8g-20a) and 188 penalty minutes in 117 regular season games and 14 penalty
minutes in 18 playoff games for Kamloops.
