August 1, 2009 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Rome Emperors News Release
Atlanta Braves infielder Omar Infante is scheduled to make a Major League rehabilitation start in Rome on Tuesday. Infante was placed on the disabled list last May with a fractured left hand when he was hit by a Manuel Corpas' fastball while playing the Rockies on May 20th. "I want to see some pitches for a while, and if I do that, I think I'll be OK," Infante said. "When I come back here (Atlanta), I want to be loose and comfortable." A valuable utility player, Infante was hitting .349 this season.
Rome plays Savannah at 7pm on Tuesday which begins a five game series with Sand Gnats.
