The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves affecting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans:

-INF Vimael Machin has been assigned to Double-A Tennessee from Myrtle Beach.

-INF Yeiler Peguero has been assigned to Myrtle Beach from Low-A South Bend. He has not been assigned a number at this time.

Machin played in 33 games for the Pelicans in 2018, batting .209/.369/.318 with six doubles, two home runs and 14 RBIs. A native of San Lorenzo in Puerto Rico, Machin's 28 walks currently lead the Carolina League. Machin was drafted by the Cubs in the 10th round of the 2015 draft out of VCU, where he hit .339 on his way to earning Most Outstanding Player at the 2015 Dallas Regional. He hit .303/.360/.438 with 23 doubles, one triple, 11 homers and 72 RBIs in 117 games between Low-A South Bend and Myrtle Beach a year ago.

Peguero has played in 27 games with South Bend, slashing .269/.330/.376 with three doubles, two triples, one home run, five RBIs in four steals in as many attempts. Last year with the Low-A Cubs, he posted a .233/.318/.332 line with 21 doubles, five triples, two home runs, 40 RBIs and nine steals in 107 contests. He was originally signed by Chicago as a non-drafted free agent in 2014 out of Azua in the Dominican Republic.

The Pelicans' roster sits at 25 active players, with five players on the disabled list.
