KODAK - The Chicago Cubs announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies roster prior to tonight's series finale against the Jacksonville Suns at Smokies Stadium.
Infielder Jonathan Mota has been transferred to Tennessee from Triple-A Iowa. In two stints with the I-Cubs this season, the 27-year-old has posted a .237 average (18-76) with ten runs scored, a homer and nine RBI. Through his 35 contests with Tennessee this year, the infielder has accumulated a .232 average (29-125) with five doubles, one home run and six RBI.
Tennessee's active roster stands at 25, and a revised roster is attached.
