
Indians Prepare for eight-game homestand

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The Indianapolis Indians return to Victory Field Thursday for an eight day homestand. The Tribe will face IL North opponents Syracuse and Buffalo. The homestand features an appearance from the Famous Chicken, fireworks, a retro cap give away and much more.
Indianapolis hosts the Syracuse SkyChiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays from Thursday to Sunday. The SkyChiefs are managed by former Indian Marty Pevey and feature Australian third baseman Glenn Williams and second baseman Russ Adams. The Tribe hosts the Buffalo Bisons from Monday to Thursday. Buffalo, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, is managed by Marty Brown. The Bisons feature former Major League third baseman Russell Branyan and top-hitting shortstop Jhonny Peralta.
The following is a game day preview of stadium promotions for the homestand:
Indianapolis Star Youth Clinic/Throwback Thursday Cruisin' Night - Thursday at 7 p.m. vs. Syracuse, June 24
Children 14 and under with game ticket will participate in a pre-game clinic on the field with Indians players and coaches. The clinic will run from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Gates to Victory Field will open at 5:00 p.m. Cruisin' Night, presented by Corona, will feature 1950s automobiles on display. The Tribe will be sporting retro uniforms in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1954 champion Indians, tabbed as one of the best minor league teams in its era. Lutheran High School's 2004 Class A State Champion softball team will be recognized prior to the game.
Fireworks Night - Friday at 7 p.m. vs. Syracuse, June 25
Bigg Country will peform a pre-game concert in the Centerfield Plaza at 5:30 p.m. Bob Bedell, CEO of the Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association, will lead the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh inning stretch. Every Friday, fans can register to win a Pontiac Sunfire. Fans will be treated to a post-game fireworks show, courtesy of Reeves Buick Pontiac, Pepsi and The Indianapolis Star and co-sponsored by WISH-TV 8, Seyfert's and Radio Disney.
Spectacular Saturday/Famous Chicken Night - Saturday at 7 p.m. vs. Syracuse, June 26
Tony Cheesebourough will conduct a pre-game concert in the Centerfield Plaza at 5:30 p.m. The Famous Chicken entertains fans, the first of two appearances at Victory Field, courtesy of Dick's Bodacious Bar*B*Q. Singles Night at Victory Field, courtesy of Z99.5 FM, features a pre-game party in the Centerfield Plaza with DJs KJ and Kelly McKay.
Retro Cap/Harley Day - Sunday at 2 p.m. vs. Syracuse, June 27
The first 4,000 fans will receive an Indians retro baseball cap, courtesy of WTHR-13, Marsh and O'Malia's. Pre-game activities include an on-field parade of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Eleven lucky fans will have a chance to win a Harley-Davidson motorcycle determined by a pre-game home run hitting contest, courtesy of 92.3 WTTS and Indy West Harley-Davidson.
Monday Dollar Menu Night at 7 p.m. vs. Buffalo, June 28
The Indians roll back concessions prices each Monday Night at Victory Field, allowing fans to purchase regular nachos, hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn and Cracker Jack for $1 each. Discount ticket coupons are available at Fazoli's locations throughout the Indianapolis area.
WHMB/Red Cross Night - Tuesday at 7 p.m. vs. Buffalo, June 29
In cooperation with WHMB-TV and Noblesville Honda, the Indians will give away a Honda Ruckus and Honda Metropolitan Salsa Scooter.
Business Day Special - Wednesday at 2 p.m. vs. Buffalo, June 30
At least four Great Clips stylists will cut hair for charity at the ballpark (minimum $10 donation required). All proceeds go to the National Alliance for Autism Research.
40th Annual Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Night - Thursday at 7 p.m. vs. Buffalo, July 1
Celebrate the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce's 40th anniversary of Business and Baseball. Four Indians' alumni from the 1965 team will join the festivities - Len Johnston, Dick Kenworthy, Les Clinkscales and Marv Staehle.
