NORFOLK, Va. -- Right-hander Luis Munoz gave up just one unearned run over 6.1 innings, while left fielder Michael Ryan hammered his team-high 15th homer of the season as Indianapolis defeated Norfolk 3-1 in front of 7,359 Saturday night at Harbor Park.

The Indians improve to 58-56 on the season and 26-31 on the road, while the Tides fall to 55-59 overall and 29-38 at home. Sunday will be the Tribe's 258th consecutive day with a record of .500 or better.

Munoz (6.1 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 SO) improved to 2-1 with his second quality start of the season. The 25-year-old retired eight straight batters between the third and fifth frames.

Norfolk lit up the scoreboard in its first at bat when CF Tike Redman (3-for-5, 1 R) led off with a single to left, stole second and crossed the plate on back-to-back throwing errors by the catcher and center fielder.

Indianapolis snatched the lead by plating a pair of two-out runs in the third. LF Michael Ryan (1-for-3, 1 R, 1 RBI) crushed a solo-shot to right, while 1B Steven Pearce (2-for-5, 1 R) followed with a base knock to left and scored on 3B Jose Hernandez's (1-for-3, 1 RBI) triple to right.

The Indians added an insurance run in the fifth when 2B Don Kelly (1-for-5, 1 R) started things off with a triple to right and eventually raced home on RF Brad Eldred's (1-for-4, 1 RBI) infield single.

Tribe LHP Juan Perez (1.2 IP, 1 BB, 2 SO) picked up his seventh hold of the campaign and RHP Bret Prinz (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 SO) worked the final frame to earn his second save.

Tides RHP Andy Mitchell (6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 2 SO) suffered the loss, falling to 7-6.

The two teams face-off in the series finale on Sunday at 6:15 p.m. RHP Bryan Bullington is slated to start for Indianapolis, while LHP Garrett Olson is expected to get the nod for Norfolk.

The contest will be carried by ESPN-950 AM and IndyIndians.com with Howard Kellman and Scott McCauley. The pre-game show begins at 5:55 p.m.
