Independence Announces 2021 Home Opener in New American Legion Memorial Stadium

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - Charlotte Independence is set to host its first-ever match at American Legion Memorial Stadium on Saturday, June 5 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the club announced today.
The USL Championship today announced dates for all 31 of the club home openers for the 2021 season - with the season set to kick off on Saturday, April 24.
The Independence will open the 2021 USL Championship regular season on the road against the Rowdies on May 1 in Tampa's home opener.
The Jacks will also take on the Charleston Battery on May 14 in Charleston's home opener.
The league will feature 31 teams across four divisions and two conferences, with the clubs set to embark on a 32-game regular-season schedule that will be conducted over 27 weeks.
The Independence will compete in the Atlantic Division alongside Charleston Battery, Hartford Athletic, Loudoun United FC, Miami FC, New York Red Bulls II, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, and Tampa Bay Rowdies.
