Historic 2021 Home Opener Date Announced

Oakland, CA - The 2021 Roots Season Home Opening Game is set for Saturday, June 19th at 5:10 PM vs Sacramento Republic FC at Laney College Football Stadium. This historic event marks the first time that a USL Championship game will ever be played in The Town, as Roots make their league debut in 2021.

With the recent news of Alameda County moving from Purple to Red tier, we're eagerly anticipating the opportunity to welcome fans in-stadium for the first time since March of 2020. State and County social distancing guidelines will be in place in accordance with state and local guidelines, and Roots Members will receive the first priority to attend any limited capacity games.

Roots have also scheduled preseason closed-door scrimmages at San Jose Earthquakes on April 9th and at Sacramento Republic on April 17th. These games are closed to the public.
