FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts - With the first leg of the Champions League semifinals in the books, the Montreal Impact returns to MLS regular season action versus the New England Revolution this Saturday afternoon, at 3pm, at Gillette Stadium (TVA Sports, TSN 690 Radio).

One of the keys will be to ensure that there is no drop emotionally after the high of the win over Alajuelense on Wednesday night at Olympic Stadium.

"When you come off such a great moment like the other night, there are a lot of emotions," said assistant coach Mauro Biello. "Our job as coaches is to make sure that the players understand that we did something great, but not fall prey to that success. We need to build on that."

"We have to have the confidence to go there and not play on our back foot, and I think the game this week helped us with that," said Patrice Bernier. "They have a lot of good offensive qualities, but we showed that we are a good defensive team and we need to put our stamp on the game."

Striker Jack McInerney has scored five career goals in MLS against the Revolution, including three game-winning goals, while playing with Philadelphia. He also recorded one goal and one assist against New England in two games with the Impact.

Rookie Cameron Porter has excelled during his short pro career so far, scoring one goal and assisting on another in just one start and a little over 100 minutes played.

Defender Laurent Ciman will return to Montreal following the game before joining the Belgian national team for Euro 2016 qualifying matches, while midfielder Maxim Tissot will join the Canadian national team for a couple of friendlies.

This match will serve as the home opener for the New England Revolution, who have started the season with two losses on the road - 3-0 to Seattle in the season opener and 2-0 to NYCFC last weekend, but are historical strong at home, going 12-4-3 last season, including two playoff games.

The Impact, however, has won two of its previous three matches at Gillette Stadium.

The Revs will have a number of regulars out as captain Jose Goncalves was red carded last weekend, midfield general Jermaine Jones is recovering from Sports Hernia Surgery and winger Teal Bunbury is sidelined with a separated shoulder.

However, Lee Nguyen, a league MVP finalist last season after registering 18 goals and five assists, made his 2015 debut last weekend after missing the opener in Seattle while recovering from a groin injury.

"Despite losing their first two games, they have a lot of quality players and created a lot of chances," added Biello. "Agudelo, Nguyen, Rowe are all good offensive players. It's their home opener, so they will be ready.

The Impact returns to Montreal on Sunday to prepare for its home opener next Saturday against Orlando City SC and international icon Kaka. Good tickets are still available via ticketmaster.ca.
