Igor Bobkov Named ECHL Goaltender of Week

West Valley City, Utah - Igor Bobkov of the Utah Grizzlies is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for February 16-22. It is the third time in the last two seasons that he was won the weekly honor.

Bobkov and the Grizzlies open a six-game home stand Wednesday at Maverik Center at 7 p.m.

Bobkov went 3-0-1 with two shutouts, a 1.49 goals-against average and a save percentage of .955 in four appearances last week as the Grizzlies took five of six points against Alaska Friday, Saturday and Sunday after opening the week with a 2-0 Maverik Center win over Idaho on Monday, February 16.

The 24-year-old made 32 saves in a 2-0 win against Idaho on Monday, stopped 30 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss at Alaska on Friday, had 29 saves in a 3-2 victory against the Aces on Saturday and stopped all 30 shots in a 4-0 win at Alaska on Sunday.

Bobkov has appeared in 18 games with Utah this season going 10-6-2-0 with two shutouts, a 2.58 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914. He has also appeared in seven games with Norfolk of the American Hockey League.

Under contract to the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League, Bobkov finished second in the ECHL last season with a 2.04 goals-against average and was tied for fifth with a .921 save percentage. He is 27-14-6 in 47 career appearances with the Grizzlies.

A native of Surgut, Russia, he has also appeared in 51 career American Hockey League games with Norfolk and Syracuse and during his junior career, he participated in the 2011 World Junior Championships.
