Idaho adds pair of forwards

(Boise, ID) - Idaho Steelheads head coach Derek Laxdal announced Wednesday that forward Mathieu Tousignant has been reassigned to Idaho by the AHL's Texas Stars and that forward Tyler Spurgeon has agreed to terms with the Steelheads.

Also, forward Brad Miller has been recalled by Texas.

Tousignant (pronounced TWO-sih-know) will be making his professional debut this season. The 19-year-old centerman averaged nearly a point per game in 202 career contests in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Spurgeon played 73 games in Springfield of the American Hockey League in 2008-09, totaling 20 points (6 goals, 14 assists). He played for the Stockton Thunder in 2006-07, picking up 29 points in 39 games. Spurgeon, 23, has played 119 career games at the AHL level.

The Steelheads play a pair of exhibition games this weekend against the Utah Grizzlies. Friday night, the two teams meet at the Eccles Ice Center in Logan, UT. Saturday night, the two teams will meet at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre in McCall. Tickets for the annual game in McCall are available at the Centre or by calling 208.634.3570.

Season-ticket packages for the 2009-2010 season remain available, starting at $450 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season plans begin at just $150 per seat.
