
IceRays Donate 17,000 Lbs To Food Bank Of Corpus Christi

The Corpus Christi IceRays have teamed up to donate over 17,000 lbs. of food to the Food Bank of Corpus Christi this holiday season. As part of a month-long effort through November, the IceRays organization has worked hard to ensure that the Food Bank of Corpus Christi will be able to provide for people in need for the holidays. The IceRays will return to action on Saturday night when they take on the Laredo Bucks at 7:05pm at the American Bank Center. The Food Bank of Corpus Christi is a nonprofit organization that solicits and distributes food to needy individuals. Since 1982, they have been fighting hunger in the Coastal Bend by providing food and personal care products to various charity and service agencies in an 11-county area throughout the area, including Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces and San Patricio counties.
Working throughout the Coastal Bend, their mission is nourishing the body, mind and spirit through food distribution and nutrition, assisting those in need with integrity and honesty.
In order to help, the IceRays focused their Intern Competition for the month of November of raising money and food donations for the Food Bank of Corpus Christi. The Intern Competition, presented by AllTemps Personnel and El Grado Tequila is a reality competition in the IceRays front office which pits eight IceRays interns through various challenges for a $10,000 cash prize. The Interns dedicated work raised of 17,000 lbs. for distribution through cash and food donations.
Additionally, the IceRays organization, on behalf of Whataburger, donated IceRays hockey tickets to all Food Bank volunteers who donate their time to ensure the holidays are easier for less fortunate residents of South Texas.
