IceHogs Recall Mattson from Indy

Rockford, Il. - The Rockford IceHogs announced today that they have recalled defenseman Nick Mattson from the ECHL's Indy Fuel.

The blueliner from Chanhassen, Minnesota has gone scoreless in his first five games with Indy, earning four penalty minutes and a +2 rating.

At the University of North Dakota, Mattson was part of teams that advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four in both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. He played in 153 games for North Dakota, scoring 17 goals in addition to 61 assists.

In 2008-09, Mattson won a gold medal for the United States at the IIHF World U18 Championships. Mattson also played two seasons (2009-11) for the Indiana Ice, where he was named the USHL Defenseman of the Year while leading all defensemen with a +33 rating in 2010-11.

Next Home Game: Friday, Oct. 30 vs. Iowa Wild at 7 p.m. The IceHogs welcome the Wild to the BMO Harris Bank Center for the second time in two weeks. Halloween is taking over the arena! Fans are encouraged to wear their costumes to the game. The team will host a Trick-or-Treat event, where players will give out candy to fans. The first 500 kids (14 and under) receive a trick-or-treat bag and toothbrush compliments of Dr. Zak's Tooth Fairy Castle.
