Admirals Comeback for 4-3 Shoot-Out Win
October 28, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI--Vladislav Kamenev tallied two goals and added an assist, while Colton Sissons sent the game into overtime with his first goal of the season with only 5.9 seconds to play in regulation to help guide the Admirals to a 4-3 shoot-out win on Tuesday night over the Texas Stars.
It was the team's first win at home this year and already the second time they have come back when trailing after two periods, which matched their total from all of last year.
Sissons heroics were preceded by Kamenev's second goal of the night with 6:25 to play in the game to pull the Ads within one at 3-2.
Then with just 22 seconds to play in the game and Milwaukee still trailing, the Stars Remi Elie took a tripping call to put the Ads on the power-play.
With goalie Marek Mazenec pulled in favor of an extra attacker, Kevin Fiala fired a wrister from the top of the right circle that deflected off of Sissons' stick and into the top of the net.
Following a scoreless OT period, Frederick Gaudreau and Fiala both scored in the shoot-out, while Mazanec stopped two of three shooters to give the Ads the win, their first at the BMOHBC since March 6.
Texas got on the board early in the first period when Jason Dickenson beat Ads goalie Marek Mazanec glove side for his first goal of the season at the 1:53 mark.
It would remain 1-0 Texas until midway through the second period when Milwaukee tied it up on a Vladislav Kamenev goal. The play started when Kevin Fiala fired a shot from the right dot that was blocked in front before Kamenev found the loose puck and chipped it over the pad of John Muse.
However, the Stars would regain the lead with a power-play goal by Travis Morin at the 12:25 mark of the second and a goal by Julius Honka pushed the Texas lead to 3-1 4:22 into the final period.
The Admirals power-play unit finished the night 3-for-8, marking the third straight game they have tallied on the PP.
The Admirals return to action on Thursday night when they play host the Manitoba Moose at 7 pm at the BC, the last of a three-game roadtrip.
Tickets for Thursday, or any other Ads game, can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or by clicking here. Groups of ten or more can receive great discounts over single game prices. Those interested in booking a group can call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550.
