Adirondack Frostbite News Release

GLENS FALLS, NY -- The Adirondack Frostbite saw their nine-game home unbeaten streak come to an end on Friday night, as they fell to the Rockford IceHogs 4-2 in front of 2,935 fans at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Rockford took a 2-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the game on goals from Preston Mizzi and Joe Markusen.

Adirondack pulled within one 13:47 into the second period as Frank Bakrlik's long slap shot beat Michel Robinson from the left point for a power-play goal, his fourth of the season and third in the last two games.

The Frostbite power play went to work again early in the third period to tie the game at 2. Scott Drevitch's shot from the point missed the net, but the rebound came to Kevin Watters on the near post, and he was able to jam a shot past Robinson for his team-leading 33rd of the season.

Rockford went ahead on a power-play goal of its own at 11:37 as Jason Notermann took a centering feed from Steve Yetman and one-timed a shot past Derek Gustafson.

Rob Voltera set the final, scoring a power-play goal into an empty net with 1:00 left.

The Frostbite remain seven points behind first-place Danbury, as the Trashers lost to Elmira 6-4.

Adirondack's four-game home stand continues Saturday, as the Frostbite host the Elmira Jackals at 7:35 p.m. Tickets are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office, or by calling (518) 798-0202.
