
IceDogs top Colts again

Barrie, Ont. (October 26, 2006) - After winning 5-2 in Barrie less than a month ago, the IceDogs knew they would be in tough tonight as they faced the 1st-place Colts once again. And, things didn't get any easier when they found themselves down 1-0 less than 3 minutes into the game. However, the IceDogs dug deep, found their scoring touch and stormed back to win 4-1. The victory improves Mississauga's record to an impressive 8-3-0-1 on the year.
Bryan Little collected the early goal for the Colts, at 2:45 on the power-play, off of Hunter Tremblay and Andrew Marshall feeds. Stefan Legein tied up the game for the 'Dogs, also on the man-advantage, at 14:29 with the assists going to Travis Fuller and Kyle Lamb.
The only goal of the 2nd period came off the stick of Mississauga's Chris Lawrence at 10:13 on the power-play. This time, the helpers were credited to Lamb and Josh Day. The IceDogs outshot the Colts 14-7 in the frame.
Then, Legein's 2nd goal of the game (shorthanded) at 12:59 of the 3rd period, with the assist to Keith Wynn, and Luca Caputi's unassisted effort at 17:36 put the game out of reach.
Andrew Loverock finished the night with 27 saves for the IceDogs while Andrew Perugini had 31 stops for the Colts. The IceDogs were 2 for 6 on the power-play while the Colts were 1 for 5. The game's three stars were Legein (1st), Loverock (2nd) and Matthew Bragg (3rd).
The IceDogs return home to host the Brampton Battalion tomorrow night (Friday, October 27) at 7:30 pm and the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday afternoon at 4 pm.
