
IceDogs Pick up Sixth Straight Victory with 3-2 Win Over Otters

The Niagara IceDogs picked up their sixth straight victory Friday night in Erie, defeating the home town Otters by a score of 3-2.
The IceDogs got off to a good start in the first taking a 2-0 lead midway through the period on goals by Alex Friesen and David Pacan. Those would prove to be the only goals of the period as Niagara led 2-0 after one. Shots in the period favoured the IceDogs 20-7
The second would see the home side battle back to close the lead to 2-1 before Andrew Agozzino picked up a goal in front to stretch the IceDogs lead back to two at 3-1. Erie would once again battle back before the end of the period however to make it 3-2 after 40 minutes. Shots after two were 36-17
The third period would see Niagara unable to beat Sadikov for an insurance marker and the Otters would put on some pressure late, but they would be unable to beat Visentin, as the IceDogs held on for a 3-2 victory. Final shots were 46-21 for Niagara.
The IceDogs were led offensively by Agozzino who picked up a goal and an assist, including the game winner in front of a large cheering section of family members who had made the trip.
The IceDogs return to action tomorrow night at home against the Sudbury Wolves at 7pm before finishing up the weekend with another home game Sunday afternoon at 2pm versus the Peterborough Petes. Singles seats and standing room remain for tomorrow's game while there are approximately 200 seats plus standing room remaining for Sunday.
