Head Coach Bob Boughner's remarks following a 6-0 home ice loss to the Guelph Storm on Thursday night summed up what was one of the most frustrating nights in recent memory.

"Maybe the worst one I've seen in my tenure as (the Windsor Spitfires) coach," Boughner told windsorspitfires.com. "Never mind the score. It was more about how their goals were scored and the compete level. I'm shocked and disappointed with our compete."

"You can't win anything if you don't compete."

Guelph dominated from the opening whistle, scoring exactly one minute in, a total of four times in the first period and twice more in the middle 20.

Francis Menard, Tyler Bertuzzi, Hunter Garlent, Justin Auger, Zack Mitchell and Scott Kosmachuk tallied for the Storm (18-18-2-3).

Jaroslav Pavelka allowed three goals on 10 shots, before giving way to John Cullen at 14:21 of the first period. Cullen made 30 saves from there, as the Spitfires were outshot 43-23 on the night and 30-14 over the final 40 minutes.

The win pulled the Storm within a point of the Spitfires, with four games in hand. With roughly two months left, just one point now separates sixth and ninth place in the Western Conference.
