IceDogs Lose Close Match with Bulldogs

February 18, 2016 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs lost a hard fought battle Thursday evening to the Hamilton Bulldogs by a score of 4-2.

The first period was a very physical close knit matchup as the IceDogs and Bulldogs both came out guns blazing. A lengthy tilt between IceDogs' captain Anthony DiFruscia and Hamilton captain Justin Lemcke highlighted the physicality of the frame. The period ended evenly with shots tied at 9-9.

The Dogs got an early power play chance in the second period and DiFruscia finished off a great tic-tac-toe passing play with Ho-Sang and Harper to give the Dogs a 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs tied things up with just less than five minutes to go in the period to keep things even going into the third. The Bulldogs pulled away in the third scoring three goals to take the 4-2 win.

Be sure to tune in to the IceDogs' away games this weekend as they take on the Ottawa 67's at 1:00 PM Saturday and the Kingston Frontenacs at 12:30 PM on Sportsnet on Sunday. The Dogs will be back at home on the 27^th to face off against the Guelph Storm. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at all IceDogs' ticketing locations.
