Erie Otters News Release

Flint, MI - The Otters took care of business in their final visit of the season to Flint, taking care of the Firebirds 5-2 at the Dort Federal Event Center in Flint, Michigan.

Erie began the game on the defensive, taking three penalties less than ten minutes into the game. At the expiration of the first penalty, Flint's Ryan Moore buried a rebound to start the scoring and gave the Firebirds the 1-0 lead at 6:08. Despite not recording a shot in the first nine minutes, Erie found a way to respond at 13:01 as Taylor Raddysh netted his 20th of the season, marking two consecutive 20-goal seasons for Raddysh and tying the game at 1. The Otters took the lead on the power play with less than three minutes remaining in the period. Darren Raddysh scored his seventh of the campaign to put Erie ahead 2-1 before the break.

Dylan Strome had assists on the first two Otters' goals, and he would get his third in the second period. Strome put the puck on net and Kyle Maksimovich crashed the blue paint to stuff in the rebound. His 24th goal of the season gave Erie the lead 6:53 into the frame.

Flint made things interesting in the third period thanks to Connor Sills. His fifth of the season on the power play cut the Erie lead down to just one. After that, however, Alex DeBrincat took over. He scored his first of two goals in the period at 10:40 on the four-on-four with an assist from Strome, his fourth. DeBrincat's second tally of the period came at 12:32, extending Erie's lead to the eventual final score of 5-2.

The Otters will continue their road trip tomorrow when they visit Saginaw to take on the Spirit.
