HAMILTON, Ontario - The Hamilton Bulldogs (21-28-6-0) scored three third period goals on their way to a 4-2 win over the Niagara IceDogs (27-21-3-3) at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines.
After a scoreless first period the IceDogs opened the scoring at 9:19 of the second when Anthony DiFruscia scored his 19th from Josh Ho-Sang and Stephen Harper.
The Bulldogs tied it up just over five minutes later when Matt Luff stole a puck at centre ice and raced in to score his 21st of the year. The goal extended his point streak to seven games.
In the third period Hamilton took the lead at 6:37 as Justin Lemcke scored his first of the season sneaking a shot through a crowd and in the back of the Niagara net. Niki Petti and Jesse Saban were awarded the assists on the play.
Niagara tied it back up three minutes later when Brandon Perlini lifted a shot over Connor Hicks for his 20th of the campaign.
Trent Fox put the Bulldogs back in front at 11:48 of the frame as he picked up his own rebound and netted his team leading 25th of the season.
Hamilton wrapped up the scoring at 17:28 as Matthew Strome fired a Matt Luff pass into the net.
The rookie now has 11 goals on the season and has a point in five consecutive games.
The 'Dogs will be back at home on Saturday night when they host the Windsor Spitfires in their annual Pink in the Rink game. Puck drop is 7:00pm
