IceDogs Acquire Brett Ritchie from Sarnia for Draft Picks

Niagara IceDogs General Manager and Head Coach Marty Williamson announced the acquisition of Brett Ritchie from the Sarnia Sting in exchange for draft picks.

The IceDogs send Guelph's 2nd round pick in 2012, their own 2nd round pick in 2013, Peterborough's 2nd round pick in 2014 and their own 5th round pick in 2013 to Sarnia in exchange for Ritchie.

In Ritchie, the IceDogs acquire a 6'3", 190 lbs. right winger, who was a second round pick of the Dallas Stars, 44th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry draft. The 18 year old has 42 goals and 43 assists for 85 points in 137 career games to go along with 112 career penalty minutes. Ritchie was selected by Sarnia in the first round, 12th overall in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

The IceDogs would like to welcome Brett to Niagara and we look forward to having him as a part of the IceDogs organization.
