
Otters Trade Holden to Spitfires

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced that overage defenseman Derek Holden has been traded to the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for Windsor's fifth round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
Holden was originally acquired by the Otters in October 2009 from the Peterborough Petes in exchange for defenseman Chris Breen and a conditional sixth round pick in the OHL Priority Selection.
The overage defenseman suited up in 156 regular season games for the Otters, collecting 20 goals and 55 assists. His 75 points as an Otters defenseman rank seventh in franchise history.
Holden had a career year in the 2010-11 season, when he accumulated career highs of 35 assists and 39 points. He also had an outstanding playoff series against the Spitfires with eight points in seven games.
The Otters return to Tullio Arena when they take on the Sarnia Sting Friday night at 7:00 p.m. Saturday night, the Kitchener Rangers come into town for Guns and Hoses Night.
