IceCats Make Several Roster Changes

WORCESTER, MA - Worcester IceCats President and General Manager John S. Ferguson announced several transactions for the American Hockey League (AHL) club. Center Trevor Baker was recalled from the Peoria Rivermen of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), while forwards Jeremy Yablonski and Chris Corrinet were signed to professional tryout contracts (PTO). Additionally, Worcester loaned goaltender Phil Osaer to the Trenton Titans of the ECHL.

This will be Baker's second stint with the IceCats this season. The 6-1, 165 pound Edmonton native skated in four games for the 'Cats in December, registering four penalty minutes. With the IceCats ECHL affiliate in Peoria, Baker has garnered 15 goals, 12 assists and 141 penalty minutes in 42 games: 42(15/12/27)141.

Yablonski has participated in 24 games with Peoria this season and nine games with the AHL's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. His 2002-2003 ECHL totals with the Rivermen include one goal, two assists and 154 penalty minutes: 24(1/2/3)154. With the Mighty Ducks, the 6-2, 225 pounder registered zero points and 42 penalty minutes. Yablonski is in his third season as a professional. Last season, with the Idaho Steelheads of the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL), he amassed three points and 303 PIM's in 69 games: 69(1/2/3) 303. The Saskatchewan born forward was an invitee to the 2002 IceCats training camp.

Corrinet has played 33 games with the Portland Pirates this season and one with the Philadelphia Phantoms. His totals reflect three assists and 23 penalty minutes: 34(0/3/3)23. Selected by the Washington Capitals 107th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Corrinet turned pro in 2000 after four seasons at Princeton University. Last season, the Greenfield, Massachusetts native participated in eight games for the Capitals, picking up an assist and eight penalty minutes. His regular season AHL totals show 91 games, 15 goals and 22 assists: 91(15/22/37).

Goaltender Phil Osaer was loaned by Worcester to Trenton, after going 8-8-2 for the IceCats this season. His goals against average in 22 appearances was 2.93, while his save percentage was .886. Osaer, who spent last season in Peoria, was a 1999 draft selection of the Blues.

The IceCats head to Providence for a 7:05 PM faceoff with the Bruins tonight. The 'Cats then travel to Utah for a pair of weekend engagements with the Grizzlies. The IceCats return home to host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday, February 12th at 7:05 PM.
