Bulldogs Double Up Albany

Hamilton Bulldogs News Release


The Bulldogs' Michael Ryder scored two goals and led Hamilton to a 4-2 win over the Albany River Rats at Copps Coliseum on Wednesday night. With the win, Hamilton swept the season series with Albany, winning all six games. The Bulldogs are in first place overall in the AHL with 84 points and a record of 38 wins, 8 losses, 4 ties and 4 overtime losses.

Ryder's second goal was his 20th of the season and he now joins Jason Ward as the first two Bulldogs' players to score 20 goals this season. Also scoring for the Bulldogs on Wednesday night were Tomas Plekanec and Bill Lindsay. River Rats goals came from Craig Darby and Greg Crozier.

Goaltender Kristian Antila won in his debut with the Bulldogs making 26 saves. River Rats goaltender Scott Clemmensen stopped 28 shots in the Albany loss.

On special teams the Bulldogs had no power play opportunities, while Albany was 1 for 3 with the man advantage.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next action will take place on Friday, February 7th, as they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Phantoms.
