Barons Celebrate Cleveland Hockey Alumni Day

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Barons host the Grand Rapids Griffins on Sunday, February 9th at Gund Arena at 4:05. The Barons will hold a special Cleveland Hockey Alumni Day to celebrate the history of hockey in Cleveland. Former Barons, Crusaders, and Lumberjacks players will be on hand to take part in the honor.

Those greats will watch as the Barons play in the old throwback Barons jerseys. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a collectible Classic Barons Jersey Pin.

Members from the original Barons include Bob Bailey, Wayne Shultz, Ian Cushenan and Wayne Muloin. Former Crusaders to be on hand include Bob Whidden and Ron Ward. Whidden is currently the head coach of the St. Edward Boy's Hockey Team. Former Lumberjacks Jock Callander, Chris Longo, Rick Hayward, and Perry Ganchar will also take part in the festivities.

The group of Cleveland Hockey legends will take part in opening festivities. During the first intermission, the team of Lumberjacks will play the North Olmsted Mite AA's. The second intermission will feature an autograph session with the Cleveland Hockey Alumni.
