St. John's, NL - The St. John's IceCaps dropped a 6-4 decision to the visiting Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Wednesday night at Mile One Centre.
Max Friberg scored his first as an IceCap on just the second shot of the game at 1:00 of the first and Mark MacMillan notched his fourth of the season at 9:44, but the Penguins clawed back to tie things before Morgan Ellis gave the home side the lead through 20 minutes.
After Bud Holloway extended the lead to 4-2 late in the second, the Penguins scored four unanswered, including two early third period goals that ended netminder Zach Fucale's night early.
Friberg, Ellis and Holloway all finished with two points for the IceCaps while Conor Sheary and Scott Wilson paced the visitors with a goal and two assists each.
The IceCaps outshot the Penguins for the second straight night, this time by a 40-19 margin.
St. John's hosts the Toronto Marlies this Saturday (7:30 PM NST) and Sunday (4:00 PM NST) looking to snap its four-game losing streak. Tickets still remain and can be purchased at the Mile One box office (12-5 daily) or online at www.mileonecentre.com.
