IceCaps Re-Assign Marto to ECHL

The St. John's IceCaps today announced they have re-assigned defencemen Jake Marto to the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL.

Marto, 25, has played in 11 games with the IceCaps since his second recall on Nov. 10/11. After a total of 12 games with St. John's this season, Marto has collected three assists and two penalty minutes.

Through eight games with the Eagles this campaign, the left-handed defenceman has three assists and four penalty minutes. In 2010-11, the Grand Forks, ND native finished his fourth season with the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux. Marto recorded 62 points (21g, 41a) and 48 penalty minutes in 157 games in his collegiate career with the University of North Dakota.
