IceCaps Drop Americans in Home Opener

St. John's, NL ( October 16, 2015) - Christian Thomas and Sven Andrighetto notched a pair of goals each as the IceCaps handled the Rochester Americans 5-2 in their 2015-16 home opener at Mile One Centre.
Zach Fucale stopped 31-of-33 shots in his pro debut to backstop the home side to victory. Bud Holloway finished with a goal and two assists, while Morgan Ellis and Charles Hudon each picked up a pair of helpers.
After Andrighetto opened the scoring 5:23 into the first, the IceCaps potted two second period tallies to take a 3-1 lead heading into the final frame. Thomas batted the puck out of mid-air to notch his second of the game early in the third before Holloway sealed the deal by scoring into the empty net with 1:42 left in regulation.
