Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador, Kids Help Phone Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter, Boys and Girls Club of St. John's, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Newfoundland, YMCA Strong Kids Campaign and Waypoints all received $5,000 to support their endeavours in this province.
"IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation have helped us provide disability awareness to primary students, replace our sledge hockey equipment and provide accessible and inclusive outdoor playground equipment at our summer day camp," said Mark Lane, CEO of Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador. "We cherish our partnership with the IceCaps."
Boys and Girls Club of St. John's used funding from IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation to provide a Health and Wellness Recreational Program.
"This program aims to provide fun, recreational activity in a safe, secure and non-threatening environment during after school and evening hours," said Melissa Slaney, Resource Development Coordinator.
"The funding received from IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation will fully enable the work of a highly-qualified counsellor to respond to over 315 calls, customized counselling sessions by web-post and Live Chat requests from Newfoundland and Labrador," said Ellen Foley, Manager, Community Fundraising and Corporate Development, Kids Help Phone Newfoundland and Labrador.
"The generous support from IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation will enable our agency to continue to expand our work in our teen mentoring program," said Kelly Leach, Executive Director Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Newfoundland. "This investment will impact the lives of youth in our community creating relationships built on friendship, trust and empowerment".
"The funds donated by IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation will help 30 children and youth experience YMCA programs for a full year helping them learn healthy living habits and gain positive influence in our nurturing environment.," said Jason Brown, CEO of the YMCA of Northeast Avalon.
"Waypoints will use the funds from the IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation to develop a Youth Peer Support Project, a training program for young people ages 15-19 who wish to peer support other young people living with mental health issues. We are grateful for the support," said Monica White, of Waypoints.
