
Ice Pilots Sign Frederic Cloutier

Pensacola, Fla. â The Pensacola Ice Pilots, under the ownership group of Hockey Enterprises of Pensacola L.L.C. with owner Tim Kerr, announced the signing of goalie Frederic Cloutier (pronounced Clue-tee-ay) to an ECHL contract for the 2004-2005 season.
Cloutier, who stands 6' and weighs 185 pounds, played the last three seasons for Ice Pilots Head Coach Dave Farrish in Louisiana. Cloutier posted a record of 20-8-2 with a 2.31 goals against average and .920 save percentage with the IceGators last year and also played in six games for Houston in the AHL posting a record of 1-2-2 with a 2.84 goals against average and .903 save percentage.
During Cloutier's first professional season in 2001-2002 with Louisiana, he won the ECHL's Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year and Goaltender of the Year awards and was named All-ECHL First Team and chosen to the All-Rookie Team playing in 36 games for Louisiana posting a record of 28-5-3 with a 1.84 goals against average and .945 save percentage. His 1.84 goals against average and .945 save percentage are ECHL single season records.
Cloutier played in 26 games for Louisiana during the 2002-2003 season posting a record of 16-6-4 with a 3.04 goals against average and .899 save percentage and played in 12 games with Houston of the AHL with a record of 4-3-2 with a 2.46 goals against average and .905 save percentage.
Cloutier played for Acadie-Bathurst and Shawnigan in the QMJHL from 1998-2001. During his last season in juniors, he posted a record of 42-8-2 with a 2.50 goals against average and .901 save percentage for Shawnigan. Cloutier is 23 years old from St. Honore de Beauce, Quebec and catches right.
"Freddie has provided exceptional goaltending for me for the last three seasons and has continually showed that he is one of the best in his position in the league," said Ice Pilots Head Coach Dave Farrish. "We added a key piece of the puzzle to our goal of winning a Kelly Cup championship. Goaltending is the most important element of a hockey team and to add a player of Cloutier's stature is a major step in that direction."
The Ice Pilots under new Head Coach Dave Farrish will begin the 2004-2005 regular season at Mississippi on October 23 and play their home opener Saturday, October 30 vs. the Kelly Cup Finalists Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m.
Season tickets for all 36 home games for floor and glass seats are $649.44, side seats are $459.00, goal seats and lower upper seats are $411.84 and upper seats cost $324.00. 16 game plans, 8 game plans and flex packs also are available.
