Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release
PENSACOLA, FL - President Greg Schuh and Head Coach John Marks announced that the Ice Pilots have acquired goaltender John Daigneau from the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for future considerations.
In 3 starts this season with Idaho, Daigneau (DANE-you) is 1-0-2 with a 2.94 GAA and a 0.892 save percentage. He earned the win with 32 saves on October 20 vs. Victoria.
"Acquiring John gives us some flexibility in our goaltending," said Marks. "Coming from a team that just won a championship brings an attitude of knowing what it takes to be successful in the ECHL."
Daigneau, 24, played in 17 games in his first season for the Kelly Cup Champions, going 5-6-0 with a 3.02 GAA and a 0.897 save percentage. He recorded one shut out. Because he played less than the required 25 games for non-rookie status, he is still considered a rookie.
The 6'4'', 195 pound native of Brookfield, WI attended Harvard University. Daigneau played in 31 games during his senior season finishing with a 19-10-2 record. He had a 2.48 GAA and a 0.914 save percentage.
Don't miss the hard hitting, exciting action, as the Ice Pilots' next home game is Friday, November 9 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Texas at the Civic Center. The first 1,000 fans will receive a rally towel courtesy of Dr. Stuart Harlin. 2007-2008 Season Tickets, Mini Plans, and Military Packages are still available through the Ice Pilots office. For more information, or to reserve your seats, call (850) 432-PUCK, or visit the Ice Pilots web site at www.icepilots.com.
