Aces' Beckford-Tseu Named Rbk Hockey Goalie Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Alaska's Chris Beckford-Tseu is the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Oct. 29-Nov. 4.

The Toronto, Ontario native was 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .961 save percentage as the Aces went 2-1-0 against Florida last week.

The 23 year old stopped 25 shots to win 3-1 on Nov. 2 and then turned around and stopped 24 shots to win 4-1 on Nov. 4 against Florida.

The 6-foot-3 and 205-pound Beckford-Tseu is 3-1-0 and ranks fourth in the ECHL with a 1.75 goals-against and is tied for eight with a .938 save percentage.

Selected in the fifth round (159th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the 2003 National Hockey League Draft and under contract to the Peoria Rivermen in the American Hockey League Beckford-Tseu was previously named goaltender of the week four times and was named Goaltender of the month for the month of October in 2005-06.

Beckford-Tseu split time last season with the Alaska Aces where he was 7-0-0 with a 1.27 goals-against average and a .950 save percentage and the Peoria Rivermen where he was 12-11-4 with a 2.72 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage.

In his rookie season in 2004-05, he was 11-12-3 with a goals-against average of 2.71 and a save percentage of .908 in 29 games with Peoria of the ECHL and also played in the AHL with Worcester, making seven saves in 29 minutes. The Toronto, Ontario native played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Guelph, Oshawa and Kingston and was 46-53-6 with seven shutouts in 115 regular season games.

Runners Up: Peter Aubry, Texas (2-0-0, 1.50 GAA, .941 save pct.), John Ceci, Fresno (1-0-0, 3.00 GAA, .942 save pct.) and Glenn Fisher, Stockton (1-0-0, 0.00 GAA, 1.000 save pct.).
