November 21, 2011 - SPHL (SPHL)
Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
The Pensacola Ice Flyers will be participating in the 3rd Annual Fill The Mayflower Food Drive taking place from November 21st - 23rd at the Cordova Mall in front of Best Buy. Apart from making food donations themselves, all the players from the Ice Flyers' hockey team will be filling the vans with food donations beginning at 1:00 PM tomorrow, November 22nd. Coastal Moving & Storage of Northwest Florida will have moving vans on site to fill with nonperishable food and monetary donations.
"We are very blessed to be in this beautiful city and playing the sport we love so much," Team Captain and Player/Assistant Coach Dan Buccella added. "Especially this time of year, everyone realizes all we have and what we take for granted, and a meal falls into both categories. That is why we, as a team, want to help take care of our community that we are a part of, and to help MANNA."
The Pensacola Ice Flyers would like to challenge all their fans and the people of the surrounding counties to assist MANNA in their efforts in supplying food to those around us who desperately need some. The team would also like to encourage people to participate all year round, as the hungry are hungry at other times of the year, and not just around the holiday season.
If you would like more information about the food drive, other events and volunteer opportunities, you are asked to call MANNA at 850-432-2053.
