Ice Flyers Fall to Thunderbolts 4-1

PENSACOLA, FL. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers traveled to Evansville Indiana for a Friday night matchup in the Ford Center. It was the first game of the two game slate this weekend vs. the Thunderbolts. Evansville won the game following 3 power play goals in the 3rd period beating the Ice Flyers 4-1. Pensacola's Brian Billet had 21 saves and Evansville's Ryan de Melo had 17 saves.

Captain Trever Hertz put the Ice Flyers on the scoreboard first at 13:10. Josh Cousineau had the assist on the goal. It was a relatively clean 20 minutes outside of the tripping penalty on Evansville at 10:22.

Both teams were in the penalty box following a chippy second period. Evansville tied up the score at 15:44 into the second period. Dylan Clark had the goal with assists from Dave Williams and Frank Schumacher.

The game was settled in the third after Evansville capitalized on their power play with 3 power play goals in the third. John Scorcia scored on the first 27 seconds into the period. Assist by Nick Lazorko and Dave Williams. Dave Williams had the second and Chase Nieuwendyk had the third at 7:42 and 11:41. Assists on those were by Nick Lazorko, and Dylan Clarke and Hunter Stewart.

The Ice Flyers take on the Mississippi RiverKings Tuesday, March 27 at home in the Pensacola Bay Center. Tuesday's game is Kids Rule!
