Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers beat the Quad City Storm in their first ever meeting. The Ice Flyers goals were scored by Daniel Perigo and Carter Struthers. Cody Walsh scored the lone goal for the Storm.

The first period was an eventful one for Pensacola. Daniel Perigo scored his first professional goal at 12:27. He was assisted by Josh Cousineau and Andrew Schmit. Less than three minutes later at 15:10, Carter Struthers also scored his first professional goal with Daniel Perigo and Andrew Schmit assisting.

With 2:13 left in the second, there was a power outage in the area that effected the Pensacola Bay Center and businesses in the surrounding area. Gulf Power issued the following statement on the incident: "We had one of our breakers on our system trip. It did not automatically reset the way that it should. We will be investigating the cause of the breaker tripping next week."

Once power was restored, the remaining 2:13 left in the second was played after a five-minute warmup. Neither team was able to score in the second. The Ice Flyers outshot the Storm 10 to 7.

Cody Walsh scored for the Storm at 15:14 in the third. He was assisted by Joe McKeown and Phil Bronner. Shots on goal were tied at 7.
