Ice Dogs Launch Ticketmaster's TicketFast Ticket Technology
October 24, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
Long Beach, Calif. â October 24, 2002 â Ticketmaster, the world's leading ticketing and access company, and the Long Beach Ice Dogs hockey club today announced that tickets for all home games are now available using the ticketFast⢠online ticket delivery method. Ice Dogs fans can use this new system to purchase tickets in time for the team's home opener on Sat., Oct. 26, at the Long Beach Arena.
To use this system, patrons can log on to ticketmaster.com, purchase their event tickets and select ticketFast as their method of delivery. After the purchase is confirmed, the consumer's event tickets are delivered immediately via email and can be printed from a standard computer printer. When the consumer arrives at The Long Beach Arena, the unique AccessManager⢠barcode system authenticates the ticketFast tickets for entry.
"Consumers around the country are enjoying the convenience of ticketFast online tickets," said Cathy Felling, executive vice president of Ticketmaster's western region. "We're happy to bring the technology to Ice Dogs fans and the Long Beach Arena."
The ticketFast technology requires Adobe Acrobat software, which can be downloaded free of charge at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html. Once the barcoded ticket is printed, it is a regular ticket and should be treated as such. Fans must present the entire page so that the unique bar code can be scanned for admission.
"We're excited to bring the latest ticketing technology to Ice Dogs fans," said Paul Solby, Ice Dogs president. "Anything that makes coming to a game easier for fans is a win-win situation. We have seen this technology work successfully at other venues and look forward to implementing it at the arena for the Ice Dogs."
