
Ice Dogs bring back local star Alex Kim

Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that Fullerton native and center Alex Kim has agreed to terms for the 2006-2007 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 5' 11", 195-pound native of Fullerton, CA played last season in the ECHL with San Diego and scored 38 points in just 24 games. Kim also played in Portland last season in the AHL and finished the season playing with the Milwaukee Admirals in the Calder Cup play-offs.
In 152 ECHL games, with Reading, Peoria, Long Beach, and San Diego he recorded 65 goals, 73 assists and 139 penalty minutes. He last played in Long Beach in the 2003-2004 season and scored 41 points in 42 games. Kim has also played for the Idaho Steelheads in the WCHL and the Rockford IceHogs in the UHL. Before turning pro, Alex played college hockey at Miami University (Ohio).

"Alex is a proven player in this league and will be an excellent foundation for our hockey club this upcoming season. I felt it was very important to sign a player from the Long Beach Community and Alex was a no-brainer."

"Alex plays the power play, penalty kill and adds tremendous speed up front. Alex is an excellent first signing for the Long Beach Ice Dogs."

"I am grateful for the Long Beach Management and Coach Rick for giving me this great opportunity. I can't wait to get the season started and be a huge part of the Ice Dogs bringing a championship to Long Beach."
