'Blades add All-Star Lee to 2006-07 roster

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades, proud affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that it has signed defenseman Chris Lee to a contract for the 2006-07 season. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Lee returns to the Everblades after an All-Star season last year. The 25-year-old saw action in 52 games and enjoyed a career year by tallying 10 goals and 27 assists for 37 points, all of which were career highs. Of his 37 points last season, 19 of them came on the power play, and two of his 10 goals were game winners. In addition Lee tallied three points (2g, 1a) in eight Kelly Cup Playoff games last season. In January Lee made his first all-star appearance when he was selected to represent the American Conference in the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game in Fresno, CA.
"We are very happy to have Chris back in the lineup for next season." Added Head Coach Gerry Fleming. "Chris has been such an important part of our organization for the past two seasons. The versatility he brings, being able to play as a forward in addition to on the blue line really increases his stock. He's a strong skater, good puck handler and is very smart with his decisions."
Lee's rookie season in 2004-05 saw the native of MacTier, Ontario notch 27 points (5g, 22a) in 68 regular season games, and chip in 11 points (2g, 9a) in 15 playoff games during Florida's second run to the Kelly Cup Finals.
Prior to turning pro, Lee spent four years at the collegiate level with SUNY - Potsdam where he compiled 115 points in 110 career games. In each of his four seasons with the Bears, Lee increased his point total, eventually finishing his college career with a career high 49 points in 27 games in 2003-04.
Lee is the seventh player signed by the Everblades for the 2006-07 season, joining Phil Aucoin, Ryan Brindley, Steve Czech, Ernie Hartlieb, Jon Jankus and Andrew Martens.
