Ice Defeat T-Birds In Overtime

The Kootenay Ice defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 1- 0 in overtime Sunday night at the Cranbrook Rec Complex in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

Jesse Ismond scored the game-winning goal for the Ice at 3:54 of overtime. Dominik Pacovsky and Joey Leach had the assists.

This was the T-Birds last game of a six-game road trip through the Central Division. They finished with a 1-3- 1-1 record on the trip.

Sena Acolatse and Chance Lund returned to the lineup for the T-Birds after missing the previous two games with the flu.

Kootenay outshot Seattle 34-24 in the game.

Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard stopped 33 of 34 shots and his record is now 3-7-1-2.

Kootenay goalie Todd Mathews made 24 saves to get the shutout and improve his record to 3-4-0-0.

The T-Birds next play on Friday, November 6, against the Spokane Chiefs at ShoWare Center at 7:35 p.m.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2009-10 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
