Forward Alessandro Segafredo with the Seattle Thunderbirds

The Winnipeg ICE have acquired 17 year old forward Alessandro Segafredo from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for defenseman Martin Bohm and a sixth round pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.
"We thank Martin for his contributions to our team and wish him all the best moving forward" said President, General Manager & Alternate Governor Matt Cockell. "Alessandro will add depth to our forward group today and in the future, we look forward to welcoming him to Winnipeg."
Segafredo, born in Asiago, Italy, has 10 points (three goals and seven assists), is +4 and has six penalty minutes in 19 games in his first WHL season with the Thunderbirds.
The 6'1", 185 pound forward had 52 points (25 goals and 27 assists) in 26 games with the ZSC Lions based out of Zurich, Switzerland in the U17 Elit League team based out of Zurich, Switzerland and 11 points (10 goals and one assist) and 35 penalty minutes in 24 games with the GCK Lions of the U20-Elit league last season.
Segafredo was selected in the first round, 41st overall by Seattle in the 2021 CHL Import Draft.
Winnipeg continues a three game road trip tonight in Saskatoon against the Blades (6:30 on CFRW 1290).
The ICE and Wheat Kings renew the Battle of Manitoba presented by Taylor McCaffery Lawyers Friday at Westoba Place in Brandon before returning home Saturday night, 7:00 at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena
