DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Cubs and Memphis Redbirds were suspended due to heavy rains after four frames with the Redbirds holding a 3-1 edge, Saturday at Principal Park.

Eddie Butler made his first rehab start for Iowa and was roughed up, allowing three runs on two hits and a walk. Tyler O'Neill blasted a two-run homer to right to account for most of the damage. The righty fanned two while throwing 32 pitches, 17 for strikes.

Kyle Ryan took over in the second and held Memphis scoreless through three while whiffing five before Iowa could strike back. In the fourth, Victor Caratini roped a single with one out and ended the shutout on a Ryan Court double.

Heavy rain spoiled the rest of the game, forcing a suspension after four. Iowa and Memphis will resume play in the top of the fifth tomorrow at 1:08 p.m. They will play a twin bill with the second game lasting 7.0 frames
