Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that Michael Hutchinson has been named the ADT Canadian Hockey League goaltender of the week for the week ending Sunday, December 14th.
Hutchinson went 2-0 in two starts, allowing only two goals over the course of those games, including a shut-out against division leading Brampton. His save percentage was a whopping 0.972.
Michael began the season slowly, splitting time with peter Di Salvo, he won just three of his first 11 starts. He has since turned it around; winning four of his last five contests and bringing his record back to respectability.
Hutchinson currently sits ninth in overall goalie stats; with a 2.79 goals against average and a 0.920 save percentage.
Hutchinson, an 18-year-old from Barrie, ON is in his third season playing for his hometown Colts team. He was selected in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins in the third round, number 77 overall.
