(Windsor, ON) The Saginaw Spirit squared off against the Windsor Spitfires Tuesday night at the new Windsor Family Credit Union Centre, losing 6-2 in regulation. Tyler Murovich and Jordan Skellett tallied goals in the effort. Spirit forward Jack Combs saw his 16-game point streak end, the longest of season for the team. Despite the loss, the Spirit remain in third place in the OHL Western Conference with 42 points and a record of 20-10-0-2. The two teams square off again this Friday in Saginaw.

The Spirit was scored on first by Spitfires forward Adam Henrique (NHL NEW JERSEY DEVILS) assisted by forward Lane MacDermid at the 11:10 mark in the first period. Spirit forward Tyler Murovich answered quickly by scoring an unassisted goal less than a minute later at 11:59, tying it at 1-1. The two teams continued to play hard, but still ended the period with a 1-1 tie.

The Spitfires took the lead in the second period with two straight goals. Adam Wallace scored 1:58 into the period on the Spirit net. Forwards Taylor Hall and Greg Nemisz (NHL CALGARY FLAMES) assisted on the goal. The Spirit was unable to keep Nemisz from continuing his point production on the night, as he scored the Spitfires third goal courtesy assists from forward Conor O'Donnell and defenseman Harry Young (NHL NEW JERSEY DEVILS) at the 11:46 mark. The second period ended 3-1.

Windsor put away another opening goal in the third period when Spitfire forward Eric Wellwood scored an unassisted goal at 4:56 putting the score at 4-1. The Spirit reduced the deficit by scoring their second goal of the night, this one from forward Jordan Skellett at 8:05 in the period. Forwards Richard Jarusek and Kain Allicock assisted on the goal. However, the Spirit's attempt was blunted by a goal from MacDermid, who answered right away with a goal at the 10:06 mark. Henrique and forward Dale Mitchell (NHL TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS) assisted on the goal. The games final came at 12:24 in the third period when Nemisz scored another goal assisted by Henrique and defenseman Rob Kwiet ending the game at 6-2.

Spirit goalie Pasquale saved 25 out of the 31 shots on goal. Spitfire goalie Steve Gleeson came away with 21 saves out of 23 shots on goal.
