Community Winner in Teddy Bear Challenge

The Kitchener Rangers and the community came together on December 3rd for the 14th Annual Teddy Bear Toss. A record number of teddy bears were collected and distributed to our community.

Kitchener Mayor Carl Zehr was challenged by London Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco-Best and the London Knights to see which team could collect the most teddy bears.

Overall the London Knights collected 7,729 teddy bears for various charities with the Rangers collecting 6,528.

Based on an attendance of 6,304, Kitchener collected an outstanding 1.1 bears per person, a participation rate of 104%. The London Knights had an attendance of 9,034 fans and collected 0.85 bears per person, a participation rate of 85% for a total of 7,729 teddy bears.

This year's event was presented by our local Zellers stores in support of Cystic Fibrosis and a number of other area charitable organizations.

Thank you for taking the teddy bear challenge Rangers fans. In the past 14 years we have collected an amazing 61,212 bears!
