Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release
Lethbridge, AB - This is another busy week for the Canes as they prepare for three games in four nights. Wednesday, the Hurricanes will play host to the Regina Pats at the ENMAX Centre before a Friday night showdown with the Calgary Hitmen in a rematch of the 2008 WHL Eastern Conference Championship series. The Canes will then finish up the week on Saturday with a road game in Red Deer. Lethbridge was able to pick up two of a possible three wins last week, beating Medicine Hat (7-5) in a wild game on January 21 and Prince George (7-2) on January 23. After this week, the Hurricanes will head out on their U.S. swing which will take them to Portland, Seattle, Everett, and Tri-City.

First Goal: Mark Reners scored his first against the Prince George Cougars on Friday, January 28, 2009. He also added his second goal during the same game. 51 Games: Brennan Yadlowski is the only player to have played all 51 games this season. Carter Ashton, Mitch Versteeg and Craig Orfino are the next runners-up with 49 games under their belts. Colton Sceviour (22G, 34A), Dwight King (19G, 30A) and Kyle Beach (18G, 26 A) are the Hurricanes current scoring leaders. While Mitch Versteeg leads all Hurricanes d-men with 24 points (6G, 18A). Suspensions: Michael Dyck (3rd gm of 5), Dwight King (3rd gm of 5), Craig Orfino (3rd gm of 3), Kyle Beach (1 gm min. - TBD) Injury Report: Zach Boychuk (ankle, DTD); Eric Mestery (head, 1 week)

Wednesday, January 28 GAME NIGHT - Lethbridge vs. Regina
The Hurricanes will be facing up against a struggling Regina Pats on Wednesday. The Pats have lost seven of their last 10 games. They will be looking to get back into the win column against the Hurricanes. The Canes are coming off two wins against Medicine Hat and Prince George last week and will be looking add another game in the win column after a loss to Red Deer on Saturday. This will be the third of four match ups between the Canes and Pats. The Canes have taken the last two games beating the Pats 3-2 in both games this season on October 13, 2008 and December 16, 2008. This will be the last time the Pats visit the ENMAX Centre for regular season play this year.

Friday, January 30 -GAME NIGHT - Lethbridge vs. Calgary
The Canes will be facing up against the Hitmen for the fifth time this season. The Hitmen are currently the first place team in the Eastern Conference, and the number one team in the league. Lethbridge has yet to win a game against the Hitmen this season. The Hitmen and Canes have not faced off since November 8, 2008 in Calgary. The Canes lost 3-4 to the Hitmen in a shootout. Juha Metsola was able to stop 35 shots on net.

Saturday, January 31 - GAME NIGHT - Lethbridge @ Red Deer
After a loss to the Rebels in Red Deer last Saturday, the Canes will be looking to defeat the Rebels. The Rebels defeated the Canes by a 5-3 margin in their second game in two nights at the Enmax Centrium. Carter Bancks had 2 goals and 1 assist last weekend against the Rebels; while Cam Braes and Kyle Beach each added a pair of assists in the loss.
