Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release
Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes raised their home record to 6-1-0-0 as they took four of a possible six points last week with wins over the Regina Pats and Chilliwack Bruins. The Canes now prepare this week for an important three game home stand against the Prince George Cougars, Vancouver Giants and Saskatoon Blades. After this week, the Canes will play all of their games away from the ENMAX Centre from October 29th until mid November.
Storm Warnings:
Stepping up - Colton Sceviour (6G, 9A), Dwight King (4G, 7A) and Carter Ashton (2G, 3A) are the Hurricanes scoring leaders; Sceviour is currently tied for tenth in the WHL scoring race. While King's two shorthanded goals tie him for second in the WHL.
Mitch Fadden has been on a mission since returning to Lethbridge scoring three points (2G, 1A) in three games since returning from pro camp in Norfolk.
Trade Winds - Adam Chorneyko was traded Oct.17 to the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a 5th round pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft. This leaves the Canes with three overage players on their roster - Mitch Fadden, Ben Wright and Mitch Versteeg. The Canes also traded a conditional 6th round pick in 2010 to Kelowna in exchange for the rights to goaltender Torrie Jung
Injury report: Garrett Taylor (Wrist - 2-4 Weeks), Dan Iwanski (placed on 45 day Injury Reserve - retroactive to Sept.12/08)
