
Hurricanes Ship Blocker Back to Broncos

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced on Wednesday that they have traded forward Owen Blocker to the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for an eighth round draft pick in the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
Blocker, 18, was originally acquired by the Hurricanes from the Broncos on January 9, 2018. The Oakbank, Manitoba product appeared in 32 regular season games with the Hurricanes collecting six points (1g-5a) along with 20 penalty minutes. He also skated in 16 post-season games last year registering three assists and 24 penalty minutes.
With the trade, the Hurricanes now have a total of 24 players on their roster, including 13 forwards, eight defenseman and three goaltenders.
The Hurricanes travel to Regina to face the Pats on Friday before visiting the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday. The 'Canes will return to the ENMAX Centre on Friday, October 5th when they welcome the Prince Albert Raiders.
